Documenting the Ballymun Flats (Dublin), before their complete demolition.
Originally conceived in the 1960s as an ambitious regeneration project to provide social housing for the inner city population at the outskirts of the city, the Ballymun flats quickly became synonymous with issues like social isolation, drug abuse and crime, due to disadvantage, lack of support, infrastructure and amenities for the community. This culminated in the evacuation and demolition of the whole complex.
The images were taken in on 4x5 Large Format black and white film.
